WHAT: Heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 5 and
12 inches possible across lower elevations, with locally higher
amounts at the higher mountain peaks. Winds could gust as high as
35 mph.

WHERE: Portions of central and north central Montana.

WHEN: From Thursday afternoon through late Friday night.

IMPACTS: Travel could be very difficult and tire chains may be
required for some vehicles over mountain passes. Those in the
backcountry should ensure they are prepared for dangerous
conditions. The hazardous conditions could impact the Thursday
evening and Friday morning commutes.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Temperatures rapidly dropping behind the
arctic front Thursday afternoon will cause a flash freeze on
roadways and bridges. The heaviest period of snow will be on
Friday.
