WHAT: Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures on the
hottest days ranging from around 90 near the coast to the upper 90s
to around 105 for the valleys possible. Low temperatures for
coastal areas into the western valleys will warm into the lower to
mid 70s during the weekend with those warm overnight temperatures
continuing for next week.

WHERE: Orange County Coastal Areas, Orange County Inland Areas,
San Bernardino and Riverside County Valleys-The Inland Empire, San
Diego County Coastal Areas, San Diego County Valleys, and Santa Ana
Mountains and Foothills.

WHEN: From Friday morning through Wednesday evening.

IMPACTS: Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat events.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: A long-duration heat wave is expected to
develop late this week and continue through much of next week into
the following weekend with Moderate or greater HeatRisk for the
coast and valleys and Major to Extreme HeatRisk for inland coastal
areas into the western valleys.

WHAT: Dangerously hot conditions with high temperatures ranging
from the mid 80s to mid 90s at the beaches to the mid 90s to low
100s for the mesas. Nights will be very warm with low temperatures
mostly in the 70s.

WHERE: San Diego County Coastal Areas.

WHEN: Until 8 PM PDT Thursday.

IMPACTS: Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
extreme heat events.

WHAT: Minor coastal flooding and dangerous rip currents
expected due to the combination of high tides and elevated surf.

WHERE: San Diego and Orange County Coastal Areas.

WHEN: From Tuesday afternoon through Friday evening.

IMPACTS: There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip
currents can pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can
wash people off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats
nearshore. Moderate flooding of sea water is possibly over some
vulnerable low-lying coastal areas. Moderate beach erosion is
possible to likely.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: Elevated surf of 3-6 feet on south and
southwest-beaches. High tides are expected to peak between 6.5
and 7.0 feet during the morning and evenings. There is a
moderate chance that an upgrade to Coastal Flood Advisory and/or
High Surf Advisory will be needed. These products will likely
need to be extended into the weekend.

Remain out of the water due to hazardous swimming conditions, or stay near occupied lifeguard towers. Rock jetties can be deadly in such conditions, stay off the rocks.
