Coastal Flood Advisory

Coastal Flood Advisory issued October 7 at 8:51PM PDT until October 13 at 2:00PM PDT by NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA
Oct 7, 8:51 PM → Oct 13, 2:00 PM
WHAT: Minor to locally moderate coastal flooding with
elevated surf and dangerous rip currents expected.

WHERE: Catalina and Santa Barbara Islands, Ventura County
Beaches, Malibu Coast and Los Angeles County Beaches.

WHEN: Until 2 PM PDT Tuesday.

IMPACTS: Moderate flooding of sea water is likely over some
vulnerable low-lying coastal areas, especially around the time
of high tide, including over beach parking lots, bike paths,
and harbor walkways. Moderate to significant beach erosion is
likely. Isolated damage is possible in most vulnerable areas.
There is an increased risk of ocean drowning. Rip currents can
pull swimmers and surfers out to sea. Waves can wash people
off beaches and rocks, and capsize small boats nearshore.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS: The highest risk of coastal flooding is
likely Sunday, especially during the morning high tide.
