Weather Alerts and Warnings for Round Rock

Severe Future Possible

Flood Watch

Flood Watch issued June 5 at 1:25PM CDT until June 6 at 1:00AM CDT by NWS Austin/San Antonio TX
Jun 5, 1:25 PM Jun 6, 1:00 AM
Above normal rainfall from previous days has already saturated
soils for many locations within the watch area and recent flooding
in urban areas will lead to excessive runoff with any heavy rain
that develops this afternoon into tonight. Extremely high
precipitable water values will lead to high rain rates within storms
quickly leading to flooding. Additionally, storms motions will be
slow and favor training through tonight.

WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.

WHERE: A portion of south central Texas, including the following
counties, Bastrop, Bexar, Burnet, Caldwell, Comal, De Witt,
Fayette, Gonzales, Guadalupe, Hays, Karnes, Lavaca, Lee, Travis,
Williamson and Wilson.

WHEN: Until 1 AM CDT Saturday.

IMPACTS: There is a potential for life threatening flooding
somewhere in the watch area. Excessive runoff may result in
flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and
flood-prone locations. Area creeks and streams are running high
and could flood with more heavy rain.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Showers and thunderstorms will be capable of producing high
rainfall rates which could quickly lead to flooding for some
locations in the watch area. Be especially cautious as
creeks, streams and rivers may rise out of their banks
quickly. Scattered rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches with an
isolated 8 inches are possible for the duration of the Flood
Watch.
