WHAT: For the High Wind Warning, northwest winds 25 to 35 mph
with gusts up to 55 to 60 mph expected. For the Cold Weather
Advisory, very cold wind chills as low as 12 below expected.

WHERE: Portions of northwest North Carolina and southwest and
west central Virginia.

WHEN: For the High Wind Warning, from 7 PM this evening to 7 PM
EST Saturday. For the Cold Weather Advisory, from 1 AM Saturday to
7 AM EST Sunday.

IMPACTS: Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines.
Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult,
especially for high profile vehicles. The cold wind chills as low
as 12 below zero could result in hypothermia if precautions are
