WHAT: Hot conditions with high temperatures up to 90 degrees
expected and low temperatures from 55 to 62 degrees. This will
pose a moderate risk of heat-related illness.

WHERE: Eastern Strait of Juan de Fuca, Foothills and Valleys of
the North Cascades, Lake Crescent Area Including US 101, Lowlands
of Western Skagit and Northwestern Snohomish Counties, Lowlands of
Western Whatcom County, Northern Hood Canal, and Port Townsend
Area.

WHEN: From 10 AM Tuesday to 11 PM PDT Wednesday.

IMPACTS: Heat will significantly increase the risk of
heat-related illnesses for those who are sensitive to heat,
especially those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.

cooler daytime high temperatures.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any circumstances. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. An Air Quality Alert has been issued by the Northwest Clean Air
Agency until 9 AM PDT Wednesday.

An Air Quality Alert has been issued for Skagit and Whatcom Counties,
effective immediately through Wednesday July 22nd at 9am due to
expected wildfire smoke from Canadian wildfires.

Particulate matter (PM2.5) levels may reach Unhealthy for Sensitive
Groups. When air quality is Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups, sensitive
groups should take steps to reduce exposure. Limit time outside,
avoid strenuous outdoor activity, and follow tips for cleaner indoor
air. Everyone should watch for symptoms as a sign to reduce exposure.
