* Flash Flood Warning for...
Maricopa County in south central Arizona...

* Until 1100 AM MST.

* At 746 AM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between
0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. Flash flooding is ongoing or
expected to begin shortly.

HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

SOURCE...Radar and automated gauges.

IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Piestewa Peak Park and North
Mountain Park.

WHAT: Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
possible.

WHERE: A portion of south central Arizona, including the
following areas, the Phoenix metropolitan and surrounding areas.

WHEN: Through this evening.

IMPACTS: Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:
- Showers and thunderstorm capable of producing high rainfall
rates that can lead to flash flooding. Additional rainfall
totals as high as 1 to 2 inches with locally higher amounts
possible.
