At 507 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 9 miles northeast of Havana to Florida A and M
to near St. Marks to 17 miles southeast of Crawfordville. Movement
was west at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Tallahassee, Woodville, Tallahassee State College, Florida State
University, Quincy, Havana, St. Marks, Midway, Crawfordville, Florida
A and M, Doak Campbell Stadium, Wakulla, Gretna, Sopchoppy, Lake

WHAT: Heat index values of 108 to 112 expected.

WHERE: Portions of southeast Alabama, Big Bend and Panhandle
Florida, and southwest Georgia.

WHEN: From noon EDT /11 AM CDT/ today to 6 PM EDT /5 PM CDT/ this
evening.

IMPACTS: Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat
illnesses.

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sunshine, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Take extra precautions if you work or spend time outside. When possible reschedule strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Know the signs and symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing when possible.
